Ukulele Series Book #18 The Shaped Book Ukulele. 2003 The ukulele was sawed in thirds to create a bent wood "shaker" box by affixing the middle third of the ukulele as a band around the back of the ukulele (which is now the top of the box). A copy of Hawaii: Isles of Dreams by Jacques Chegaray was cut to the shape of the ukulele box and placed inside the uke box.
