Morton Marcus, poet and film critic,
is the author of ten books of poems and one novel. His most recent books are
Striking Through The Masks: A Literary Memoir (Capitola Book Company, 2008); a collection of prose poems,
Pursuing The Dream Bone (Quale Press, 2007); Shouting Down The Silence: Verse Poems 1988-2001
(Creative Arts Books, 2002) and Moments Without Names: New & Selected Prose Poems (White Pine Press, 2002).
He taught English and film at Cabrillo College for thirty years, is a longtime host of The Poetry Show on KUSP,
and reviews movies on the Bay Area TV show Cinema Scene. In 1999 he was the Santa Cruz County
Artist of the Year and in 2007 he received the Gail Rich Award for his cultural contributions to the community.
