PRODUCE FOOTBALL LEAGUE 1998

MONDAY MORNING MUSE...

A high scoring week in the PFL, as 7 teams top 600 points, with the big surprise Pumper thrashing NoRag by over 600 points and not joining the Mayor in the PFL record book...Freeman with 352 and CJ with 348 points a piece overshadowed the fine performances by Jamal Anderson (295) Favre (292) and Fred Taylor (259)...still quite a few points off of the all-time high scoring week, as week 11 in 1995 we averaged over 700 points per team...Niners lose Raiders win and they are both 6-2...both 0-7 teams win along with Pumper, as Carolina and the Skins both win fairly easily this week, and the Vikings go down...man, did I stink in the office pool this week...Mayor makes a nice call, benching his high scoring Packer D to play the Jags this week, as they score twice and rack up 277 points...Speaking of Pumper, he not only gets his first win, but it looks like a weekly win besides, as he leapfrogs both Puppy and Pecker to climb up to 8th place...probably a case of too little too late, as he is nearly eliminated from the playoffs, with only 4 more weeks to go he is 3 games behind...it ain't over till it's over, however....Mayor edging out Skinny in the North gives him the edge up on the third playoff spot there, with newcomer PhilZone on the outside looking in...seems like just a few years ago we would have had tons of potential PFL points with a Cowboy Eagle game, this year only 4 players, two RB's, Irvin and the Cowgirl kicker...

TUESDAYS GONE WITH THE WIND...

Cowgirls do it, and Trouts midseason pickup pays immediate dividends, with Deion going in and racking up over 200 points, along with the 98 points from little Ritchie, he again joins the 1000+ point club and wins his third week of the year...his thrashing of Pecker also gives the North an almost insurmountable 10-3 lead in the interdivisionals, with this week finding all 5 teams out of divison it could be over early this year (more time to plan the menu)...with the additional points scored on MNF, we ended up averaging 691 points/team, close to the record..six defenses scored big this week, but only half of them were starters, ouch...hard to believe week 10 is already upon us, and with it the trading deadline...any changes need to be completed prior to the first games this weekend...
