Definition: Cancer occurring in the uterus, or womb of a woman. There are two main types of uterine cancer - that occurring in the lining of the uterus (endometrium) called endometrial cancer, and that occurring in muscular wall of the uterus, called uterine sarcoma. Endometrial cancer is by far the more common of the two. There are also more rare types of uterine cancer, such as papillary serous adenocarcinomas and clear cell adenocarcinomas.

The most common symptom of uterine cancer is abnormal bleeding. Especially after menopause, any bleeding should be reported to your doctor.
