Definition: A condition causing thinning and whitening of parts of the vulva, which are often itchy. There is some evidence that skin with lichen sclerosis may be slightly more suseptible to vulvar cancer, especially when it occurs in combination with squamous hyperplasia, and the condition should be monitored.

Also Known As: chronic atrophic vulvitis, white spot disease
