Definition: An abnormal mass that is not malignant, in other words, does not invade the surrounding tissue or spread to other areas of the body. It can sometimes cause problems by pressing on other structures, however.

Pronunciation: bee NINE TOO mur • (noun)

Also Known As: non-malignant, non-cancerous

Examples: uterine fibroid, dermoid ovarian cyst
