Definition:
Sometimes referred to as "endometriosis within the uterus", this condition
occurs when bits of endometrium get into the wall of the uterus, resulting in
painful periods, heavy bleeding, and an enlarged uterus. Adenomyosis often co-exists
with fibroid tumors.
