Why do you use fedex?
Why is your shipping seemingly high? How long will it take to get my item?
This page is designed to answer some of your questions about shipping.
I had to consider a number of things when choosing a deliver company. Here are a few reasons why I
choose fedex:
I had to consider their customer service and if they were business friendly. Fedex has a number of
locations two of which are much closer to me than either USPS or UPS.
FedEx offers great customer parking, wide automatic doors, easy drop off service- no waiting
in line like USPS and UPS!
FedEx has great phone customer service never a long wait when calling and the person who helps you tells
you their full name and when your done talking gives you a convesation number for future reference!
How cool is that? The last time I called my phone company and electric company they refused to give me their name or id number stating it is against company policy!
FedEx also has a great package tracking system which provides me and my customers with great comfort
because at anytime 24/7 we can locate their package.
With my experience considering the average sized item I ship FedEx rates are much better than UPS and
almost equal to USPS ($8.95 flat rate) after adding the 2.00 for the insurance (considering the rate hike in May of 2007 ).
With USPS you never know where your items is unless you pay extra for their tracking and then it is very limited as to how it tracks
and what packages can be tracked. Then the time it takes to fill out the one form for thelable, then the insurance and the form for the tracking if USPS decides they will track your package. Please remember I ship at the very least 12 -20 packages every time I ship and having to fill out
several hand written forms per package can be very time consuming.
The closest USPS is not very close, They never have parking then when you finally do find parking it
is metered to 20 minutes. The line inside USPS is usually 40 minutes. They are not business friendly at
all. When I ship items, I ship on an average 15-25 boxes at a time. With Fedex I can back right up to
the front door, there is always space and I never have to pay to park! I really did not enjoy paying for
meter violation parking tickets when I shipped at the post office.
In the only year I shipped with USP and they broke an average of one item a month and
never paid a single
claim. In the years at FedEX only 2 damaged items and both claims were paid in one week!
That is very
fast, much faster than USPS and UPS considering UPS never paid a single claim even when they were
clearly at fault. On the rare occasion if there is damaged goods FedEx goes to your house or work
and get the damaged goods- Now that is service! You dont have to drop it off like USPS and UPS requires.
FedEx delivers packages much faster than UPS usually 5 days
Also I care about the enviroment and becasue of that I really enjoy selling used/ recycled goods-
antiques and collectables. So I also wanted to support a company that also shares my values in caring
for the planet.
Fedex FedEx is among the best Fortune 500 companies for its initiatives in environmental issues,
according to the Council on Economic Priorities' Corporate Responsibility Profile for Environment.*
They introduced the FedEx OptiFleet E700, an environmentally-superior delivery truck, into its delivery
fleet in 2004. The new vehicle is expected to decrease particulate emissions by 96 percent, reduce
smog-causing emissions by 65 percent, and travel 57 percent farther on a gallon of fuel, reducing
fuel costs by over a third. You can read more if you want here:

Now I bet you had no idea all the thought and consideration I put into where and how I ship.
Many hours went into evaluating shipping rates, insurance rates, access, location, customer service
and social responsibility.
For all the above reasons I think you too would agree Fed Ex is the way to go!
Thanks
